Professor Dr. Milenko Kreća

Judge ad hoc of the International Court of Justice (1993-present) in cases related to the Application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide as well as the Legality of the Use of Force. Judge ad hoc of the European Court of Human Rights. Member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Hague (2013-present); Member of the Venice Commission (2013-present).

Graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Belgrade. Earned an LLM degree in May 1974 cum laude. In September of 1977, he completed his doctoral thesis at the Law University of Belgrade cum laude. Elected assistant lecturer to the Department of International Public Law in 1975, assistant professor in 1978, associate professor in 1985, and full time professor in 1990.

Assistant Dean of the Law Faculty of the University of Belgrade (1989-1991); Head of the Department for International Law and International Relations (1997-present); President of the Council of the Law Faculty of the University of Belgrade (2006-2009); Director of the Institute for Legal and Social Sciences of the Law University of Belgrade (2004-2006); President of the Council of Experts for Legal and Political Sciences of the University of Belgrade (1999-2004).

Director of the Institute for International Politics and Economics (1997-2000); President of the Council of the Institute for Comparative Law (1997-2000); Member of the Federal Commission for the Harmonisation of the Law of the FR of Yugoslavia with the Law of the then European Community (1998-2000); President of the Serbian Association for International Criminal Law (2000 – present); President of the Serbian Association for International Law (2013 – present).

Author of numerous books and articles.
